Come on people now, smile on your brother
There is this very large prison colony off the West Coast of
New Zealand, some of y’all might know of it as Australia, we know it as the thieving
mongrel colony. There is an intense amount of dislike between New Zealand and
Penal Colony Dingoland, especially when it comes to sport. Probably the apex of
this happened in the gentleman’s sport of cricket when the Australian captain
and his brother lowered the standards for bad sportsmanship with the Underarm
delivery in 1981. They are the people we love to hate, the ones we love to
beat, the ones that haven’t yet supported gay marriage and their race policy
towards the Aboriginals has been, quite frankly, horrendous – and let’s not
mention the snakes, spiders, deadly jellyfish and dingoes eating babies. They
are quite frankly a giant bag of dicks, and we have fought side by side with
them forever and we always will. The ANZAC spirit (Australia New Zealand Army Corps)
is a legacy that will never pass and as much as we love to hate them, they are
our friends and to some they are family. We also hate the English rugby team by
the way, but that is a whole other story.
Recently I have taken a bit of a break from sharing my
brilliant and perceptive views on life because of a couple of things but mainly,
quite frankly, because I am getting sick and tired of people. Well not sick and
tired of all people but sick and tired of a few people. The wonderful thing
about social media is that you can see pictures of puppies and babies and you
can also use it to promote social issues like a drive for coats for the
homeless when a sudden cold snap hits town. However, it seems like some people
are mainly using it now to express what a fucktard anyone is with a different political
ideology to them – and they are not being nice about it.
Yes, you have the right to have an opinion (and that freedom
is not God given, it was given of the blood and guts of men and women who
fought for it), but that also means that other people are also allowed an
opinion and even if you believe that opinion to be completely fucking insane
that does not give you the right to suddenly consider that person a lesser
human being just because they don’t see things your way. If you do you are not
part of the solution, you are part of the problem.
Let’s use a quick example. A couple of my friends recently
posted the same ‘story’ about someone wanting to repeal Obamacare but wanting
to keep ACA (for those of you not in the know these are the same thing –
Affordable Care Act = Obamacare). One person posted the story with an LOL
comment, the other posted it with more of a ‘fuck you, you stupid ignorant
Trump supporter’ comment. There is already a divide, some people have been surprised
that it exists, many have known about it for a while. Calling people ignorant
just because they aren’t as left, right or in the middle as you might be IS NOT
FUCKING HELPING. The same person posted a comment with a ‘unfriend me if you
support him’ comment and got called out on it by his father-in-law – talk about
looking fucking stupid. I have friends on both side of the political spectrum
and guess what, you don’t need to unfriend me and I am highly unlikely to
unfriend you (what a stupid fucking thing to say – damn you book of faces)
unless your rants just get too fucking much – actually all I need to do is
ignore you. The problem is that ignoring people is also part of the problem.
So what has this all got to do with the thieving mongrels
and NZ. Well, just because we don’t like the way they play cricket, the way the
still steal stuff (like our medal counts at the Olympics, Russell Crowe and
pavlova) we sure as fuck don’t speak to them the way some of y’all are speaking
now on the social media soapboxes you have. I am guessing it is a hell of a lot
easier to tell your father-in-law to unfriend you electronically than face to
face. A person I love and respect – we shall call him Cowboy – was chatting
with me, face to face, and said “you and I have different political beliefs”,
he didn’t say it to me in caps, didn’t unfriend, unlike or block me. We had
something that people seem to be incapable of these days, a reasoned and level
conversation where both parties had a chance to express their opinion without
judgement, rolled eyes, hyperbole (not hyper-bolle as that is an overexcited
pair of sunglasses) or screams of “you ignorant fuck”. Cowboy expressed a valid
point, he had actually met the person we were discussing and I learnt something
because I listened. No, we didn’t solve the world’s problems but we respected
the opinions expressed, had another drink and will have another chat and drink
next time we catch up. He is a friend and always will be, simple. Yes this
election in the US (and the Brexit vote) has been polarizing and eye opening to
some, but that does not justify the amount of hatred and bile being spewed daily
by some people on both sides of the conversation. Not only are you NOT FUCKING HELPING THE
PROBLEM you are also giving me pause to write these brilliant posts that so
many of you wait for evert week :) It seems like no one knows what good sportsmanship is anymore – probably started
with the Aussies (dicks) :)
I am in no way perfect - probably as close as any person can
be :) but (and it is a great
looking butt apparently) I also know that what some people are accepting now as
the norm is not acceptable. There is violence inherent in the system, people
are being repressed and we really need to get together and love one another
right now.
As usual there has been absolutely zero research into the
content and context of this week’s post, so the only person at fault here is me.
Some of the comments I really wanted to make have been tempered so that I do
not sound like the people that are annoying me so fucking much at the moment.
The author of this post (that would be me, James, yes I write all of this
stuff) would like apologize for any offense taken, but is not going to, as it
would not be true. Finally, and most importantly for all of y’all that have
read this far (Hi Mom) the Poets Day clubhouse is open for business and will
always be open for friends and acquaintances to pop over, have a beer, a nice
cuppa tea, a shot of shine and have a chat. There will never be a time when you
are not welcome with open arms, a drink and a decent piece of grey matter
attached to a couple of auditory and one oratory devices. For you Trumpillary
supporters that means I have 2 ears and a mouth and, unlike the more rabid of
you fucks, a brain :)
Work hard, play hard and earn your inspiration. Get
together, love another right now.
Happy Poets Day
I never knew the Aussies stole so much from the Kiwis. Just don't let them take Peter Jackson, Marlboro region wines, and Lorde.
ReplyDeleteMarlboro are smokes - Marlborough is where the wines come from :) And they are getting them :)
